An exceptional series of four Music Masters Lecture/Recitals is
scheduled for presentation by the EMMA Concert Association in October
and November 2009. The series is offered in cooperative sponsorship
with Flagler College and coordinated by Curtis Powell, pianist and
Honorary EMMA Board Member. Mr. Powell is Music Director of the Academy
of Music and Arts Summer Theater Camp. The following outstanding
musical personalities will present programs of special interest to all
ages. Each Lecture/Recitalist will discuss topics related to his or her
musical specialty with open question-and-answer opportunities from the
audience; and each will present a brief musical demonstration to
illustrate topics discussed. The lineup is as follows:
Tuesday Nov. 17, 2009: Christine Armington Clark is both pianist and attorney – and an expert in both. As an attorney she is affiliated with the Jacksonville law firm of Pajcic & Pajcic. Her pianistic background includes performances with a local rock group as well as with the Jacksonville Symphony and the Jacksonville Starlight Symphonette. Her presentation for this Music Masters Lecture/Recital will include piano works by Romantic and Contemporary composers.

The Council on Aging (COA)
and the Altrusa Club of St. Augustine are joining forces to offer an informational
forum on Medicare Part D and other prescription assistance options for area
residents.
The forum is open to the
public and will be held at the COA Coastal Community Center, 180 Marine St. at
7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17.Coffee and cookies will be served.
Yvonne McCaw and Dick Wallis
from SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) and Tina Brophil of COA
will discuss the basics of researching and enrolling in a Medicare Part D plan,
qualifications for the low-income subsidy, what the “donut hole” is and when
you might reach it, and a review of other prescription assistance programs
available to persons not eligible for Medicare.A local pharmacist will explain how individuals can work
with their pharmacist to ensure that they are receiving the best benefits
available from their Medicare Part D policy.Time will be included for attendees to ask the
“experts” their own questions about Medicare Part D and the
pharmaceutical-sponsored assistance programs.

School aged children (K-12th grade) can get vaccinations for the season flu and the H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus at the St. Johns County Health Department between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. This will go on throughout the month of November (except for Nov. 26th & 27th) as supplies last.
The St. Johns County Health Department is located in the old Flagler Hospital building at 1955 US1 South, St. Augustine, FL 32086.
