Audubon Nature Walk, St.
Augustine Lighthouse Neighborhood
Tuesday, November 10, 2009
From 9 until 11 AM
Meet at the boat ramp
parking area.
What is an Audubon Nature
Walk?
Audubon Nature Walks are
relaxing two-hour strolls through local parks and neighborhoods.Participants explore all facets of
nature, not just the birds.Led by
St. Johns Audubon volunteers, the walks are both educational and fun. They are open to the public. No experience necessary!
The Lighthouse
neighborhood may seem an unusual
place to find a variety of wildlife, but it never fails to produce an
interesting variety of birds, wildflowers, and signs of other critters that
share this area with humans.Possible birds include American oystercatchers, willets, sandpipers, plovers,
egrets, and herons which forage in the creek and loaf on neighborhood docks. The mossy old oaks provide cover for
woodpeckers, warblers, and hawks.
The boat ramp parking area is
practically in the shadow of the St. Augustine Lighthouse.Find complete details at
