										<description>Date: Friday - May 31, 2013 Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Location: Ocean Books andamp; Art Description: ART CLOSING PARTY - andquot;MY HEARTand#039;S AN OPEN BOOKandquot;

An Evening of Art, Poetry andamp; Spoken Word

FLAGLER BEACH, FL - On May 31st book publisher and art gallery owner Frank Gromling will hold another novel event at Ocean Books andamp; Art, his bookstore and art gallery across from the Flagler Beach pier. He will hold an art closing party for Palm Coast artist Onicas Gaddis.
Gromling will present an evening of poetry and spoken word performances set against the backdrop of Gaddisand#039; andquot;In Search of Identityandquot; spiritual expressionism show. andquot;My Heartand#039;s An Open Bookandquot; will showcase the poetry of Gaddis and Palm Coast newspaper editor Brian McMillan.
Adding to the nightand#039;s enjoyment will be Stan Alston, whose smooth vocals wowed guests at Gaddisand#039; April 5th art opening reception. Alston, a member of The Main Ingredient, is taking a break from the soul and Randamp;B groupand#039;s tour to perform with his friend Gaddis.

Gromling has demonstrated a keen ability to blend his love of books with a fascination for art, music and film through a variety of projects in the Volusia-Flagler community. His 2012 highly acclaimed andquot;Ocean Fusionandquot; event at The Cinematique Theater in Daytona Beach, where he combined an art show with an international film and a PowerPoint presentation to highlight the wonders of sea turtles, is an excellent example. andquot;My Heartand#039;s An Open Bookandquot; will be the first time he has integrated poetry and spoken word into his programs.

Gaddisand#039; first one-person show, andquot;In Search of Identity,andquot; consisting of 14 large paintings, told his personal story of searching for his identity during the early part of a life filled with heartbreak and challenge. As a direct result of the public outpouring of acclaim for his work, Gaddis said he now accepts his identity and is moving toward new and more exciting vistas.

To honor that, Gaddis is donating an original painting andquot;The Unspoken Secretandquot; to be awarded to the winner of a raffle to be drawn the night of May 31st. Tickets to andquot;My Heartand#039;s An Open Bookandquot; are $10, with 90% of the proceeds going to The Childrenand#039;s Advocacy Center of Volusia and Flagler, Inc., a support group close to Gaddisand#039; heart. Tickets are available now at Ocean Books andamp; Art, 200 S. Oceanshore Blvd. (A1A), Flagler Beach or may be purchased at the door the night of the event.
The activities will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Refreshments will be served.
