About the Play

In Laura Wade’s award-winning play “Home, I’m Darling”, Judy and Johnny live an idyllic 1950s life—complete with vintage décor, traditional gender roles, and a deep commitment to domestic bliss. But beneath the polished surface of their picture-perfect world, tensions simmer as issues begin to challenge their carefully curated lifestyle.
This sharp, witty comedy explores the cost of nostalgia and the complexities of choosing a life that looks perfect on the outside.
* Cast consists of 3 men and 3 women, various ages.
* Actors will be asked to read selections from the play.
* Characters of Judy, Johnny, Fran, and Marcus enjoy jive music and dancing. So please be prepared to show your moves on the dance floor if you are reading for these roles!
