Historic Weapons Demonstrations

Join park staff and volunteers (usually dressed in period garb) at the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument for the Historic Weapons Demonstrations. Hear history come alive with the boom of cannon fire … or occasionally musket fire!

Demonstrations are usually on the Castillo’s gundeck (upper level top) and are on select dates throughout the month.  During special events, they may take place on the grounds outside of the fort.

When: July 3, 12, & 26 | August 9, 29, & 30 | September 13 & 27

Demonstration Times: 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, and 3:30pm

All demonstrations are subject to weather and staffing conditions.

Please Note:  regular admission fees apply to watch demonstrations from inside the Castillo. Demonstrations can also be viewed from outside the fort along the seawall in an area accessed by a ramp.
