Join the St. Augustine Music Festival (SAMF) for their Juneteenth Concert.  The concert celebrates Juneteenth, James Weldon Johnson’s Birthday, and the 125th Anniversary of ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing’.

James Weldon Johnson was born in Jacksonville, FL in 1871 and in 1900, he composed ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing’ with his brother James. On this historic anniversary, the Ritz Chamber Players invite you to celebrate Juneteenth, James Weldon Johnson’s Birthday, and the 125th Anniversary of the hymn that has become the official anthem of the NAACP.

The concert will highlight the exceptional talent of the incredible Soprano Ann Marie McPhail in a program that features African-American composers.
