Civil War Times in St. Augustine Presentation at Castillo de San Marcos

Come to the Castillo de San Marcos to experience a taste of life in the 1860s in St. Augustine during the Civil War.  Re-enactors will be portraying the soldiers of the 24th Massachusetts that garrisoned the fort in 1864.

Activities include an immersive living history in which visitors will have the opportunity to play the role of new recruits sent South to St. Augustine during the Civil War.

Quality interpreters will be interacting with the public throughout the day while the other soldiers will be seen going through the various daily routines of a U.S. regiment working in the fort.

Special presentations about Saint Augustine in Civil War will take place at the top of the hour. Volunteers portraying sailors of the 1862 U.S.S. Wabash will also be firing cannons at 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm.

When: Saturday, January 25. 2025 | beginning at 9:00am

Cost: $15.00 per Adult (16 & older) | Free of charge for Children 15 and under – Must be accompanied by an Adult.
