St. Augustine Memorial Day Observance 2025

The annual St. Augustine Memorial Day Observance takes place in the city’s National Cemetery Monday, May 26, 2025 at 10:00am.  Hosted by the local MOAA-ACC Chapter and Veterans Council, the event includes pipes and drums, massing of colors, roll call of passed veterans, wreath laying, rifle salute, taps, and Keynote Speaker.

The ceremony begins with appropriate music and the march in of massed flags from local veterans’ organizations.  This years’ Keynote Speaker will be Gen. Craig McKinley, USAF ret., former Chief of the National Guard Bureau.

Local veterans who have died in the past year will be recognized and honored by the reading of their names and the ringing of the bell.

Please bring your own water and a chair.

There is parking in front and behind St. Francis Barracks.

For those interested in helping, on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 10:00am, we will place flags on all the headstones in the cemetery. Volunteers are needed to assist with placing the flags. Please plan to be at the cemetery at 9:45am for a briefing and placement of the flags.
