St. Augustine Music Festival 2025

Save the dates for the St. Augustine Music Festival (SAMF) 2025 — one of the nation’s largest, free classical music festivals.  A celebration of world-class music in a beautiful setting.

When:  Friday, Saturday & Sunday | June 20-22 and June 27-29, 2025 at 7:30pm (doors open at 7:00pm).

Where:  The Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine … providing a beautiful backdrop as well as excellent acoustics!

Performance Schedule 

Friday, June 20        —  “Season’s Best”  —  Featuring violinist Nigel Armstrong in Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires and Mendelssohn’s String Symphony No. 8.
Saturday, June 21    —  “Piano Spectacular”  —  A virtuosic evening with pianist Chelsea Wang performing Claude Debussy: Estampes, Frédéric Chopin: Ballade no. 4, F minor and Maurice Ravel Valse Nobles et Sentimentales, and Nikolai Kapustin: Variations, Op. 41
Sunday, June 22      —  “Bach to Mozart”  —  World premiere of Piotr Szewczyk’s Sinfonietta; plus Webern’s Langsamer Satz, Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 1, and Mozart’s Exsultate, Jubilate featuring soprano Maria Valdes.

Friday, June 27         —  “Songs of Joy”  —  St. Augustine Invitational Choral Festival presents Rutter’s Magnificat and uplifting performances by the Jacksonville and Indianapolis Children’s Choirs.
Saturday, June 28     —  “Perfect Balance and Beauty”  —  Featuring chamber gems by Dvořák, Puccini, Shaw, Saint-Saëns, and the world premiere of Rhythmic Colors by rising composer Alex Cooper.
Sunday, June 29       —  “Mozart and More”  —  Mozart’s Symphony No. 35, Vivaldi’s Mandolin Concerto, and the return of Piotr Szewczyk’s St. Augustine Suite for its 10th anniversary.

The mission of the St. Augustine Music Festival is to produce, perform, and promote a world-class traditional and contemporary classical/chamber music experience to a diverse audience in an accessible, welcoming, and uplifting environment to enhance the quality of life within the community through the inspiring power of music.
