Head to Fort Matanzas on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 — 9:30am-1:30pm — for Birding by Boat. This unique way to view our feathered friends by water is a special National Park Week offering.

Fort Matanzas is a stop on the Great Florida Birding Trail. As such, it protects a number of ecosystems including beaches, dunes, coastal hammock, and marsh. Frequent flyers to the area include terns, bald eagles, osprey, roseate spoonbills, and black skimmers. You’ll be able to observe them much better on a boat ride!

Three, one-hour cruises are being offered.

Cruise times: 9:30am | 11:00am | 12:30pm

Be sure to bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray. Wearing closed-toed shoes, a hat, and sunglasses is strongly recommended.

Binoculars will be available to borrow as supplies last.

The event is Free. However, space is limited.  Please call 904-471-0116 to sign-up … or stop by the visitor center to reserve your space!
