Join SJC Parks & Rec for a day of learning, celebration, and community as we honor the past and uplift the voices creating the future! Discover the stories, resilience, and culture of St. Johns County’s African American communities on this immersive heritage tour.

When: Wednesday, February 25, 2026 | 9:00am-4:30pm

Meet at: Fort Mose

Journey through Hastings, Armstrong, West Augustine, Lincolnville, and the historic grounds of Fort Mose. At each location, participants hear from local historians, community leaders, and cultural stewards about the region’s roots, agricultural legacy, and role in the fight for freedom and civil rights.

Enjoy guided experiences, special presentations, and behind-the-scenes access offering insight into both the area’s history and the communities shaping its future.
