Join members of the Historic Florida Militia for the 1586 Timeline Saunter on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.  The Saunter coincides with Drake’s Raid and Encampment; the annual reenactment of the attack of the land and naval forces of Sir Francis Drake against Spanish San Augustin in June of 1586.

This is a perfect opportunity to learn about St. Augustine’s history and to pose for pictures.  Historically clad re-enactors “saunter” down St. George Street and the historic area in St. Augustine to Aviles Street.  Along the way, they speak with visitors and residents presenting a timeline of St. Augustine’s colonial history.

Participants will be wearing historically accurate clothing depicting Saint Augustine’s history in 1586.  By wearing period clothing, re-enactors can explain and show the difference between fact and fiction more easily.

Free and open to the public.  The event is weather permitting.
