Join us at St. Photios Greek Orthodox National Shrine on Friday, February 2, 2024 for Sing Winter, Sing Spring: An Evening of Poetry.  Enjoy an intermezzo between winter and spring with Florida poets Lola Haskins and Ann Browning Masters.

5:30pm – 6:00pm — Reception
6:00pm                 — Readings begin

Books will be available for sale and signing after the reading.

Award-winning author Lola Haskins has published fourteen collections of poems and three books of prose.  Her poetry has appeared in The Atlantic, the London Review of Books, London Magazine, The New York Quarterly, Georgia Review, Prairie Schooner, Rattle and elsewhere, as well as having been broadcast on NPR and BBC radio.  She will read from her latest book of poetry, Homelight (Charlotte Lit Press, 2023).

Ann Browning Masters was appointed Menorcan Poet Laureate by the Menorcan Cultural Society in 2023.  A 12th-generation Floridian, her writing on Menorcan and Floridano life has been recognized and recorded in the Florida State Historical Archives.  She will read from her book Floridanos, Menorcans, Cattle-Whip Crackers:  Poetry of St. Augustine, her book-in-progress, Menorcans:  A Long View, and her new poetry of social commentary.
