Join us for Art History Presentation Gothic America: Mad Monks, Fallen Angels, and the Middle Ages in the American Imagination with Dr. Scott Brown.  Dr. Brown will discuss Toby Edward Rosenthal … perhaps the most famous living American artist in the 1870s and 80s. He was a Prussian Jewish immigrant who grew up in California and painted pictures of melancholy monks and tragic maidens based on medieval lore for an eager American audience.
