Check out the Art in Public Spaces Exhibition on display in the Rotunda Gallery of the St. Johns County Administration Building.

Titled ‘Under the Same Sky: Aviles & St. Augustine, 1924-2024’, this exhibition showcases the work of Martha Ferguson from St. Augustine, Florida and Samuel Fernández Armas from Aviles, Spain. They participated in the first-ever artist exchange between the Sister Cities since the original official visit to Spain in 1924. During his visit to St. Augustine this September, Armas will create paintings of St. Augustine that will be displayed alongside Ferguson’s works.  These pieces will be joined by artworks created by the 15 plein air artists who were selected to paint live during the Aviles Street Festival on September 8th.

Free and open to the public.  Also Online on the Art Association’s website.

Be sure to attend the Opening Reception on Tuesday, September 24 from 5:30pm-7:00pm.  You can meet the participating artists, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and live music by Dennis Fermin.  Celebrate the 100-year bond between the Sister Cities!
