Fort Mose Historic State Park is where you’ll want to be to experience the Battle of Bloody Mose.  Reenactors will depict the 1740 Spanish victory at Fort Mose forcing the British to retreat from Spanish Florida.

When:  Saturday, June 28, 2025 | 10:00am-3:00pm

Free Black Fort Mose militia, Spanish forces, and Yamassee warriors surprised the British in an early morning attack. They quickly reclaimed Fort Mose through a fierce display of force, hence the title of “The Battle of Bloody Mose”.
