Join us at Fort Mose Historic State Park on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 10:00am-3:00pm for the Battle of Bloody Mose. Re-enactors depict the 1740 Spanish victory at Fort Mose forcing the British to retreat from Spanish Florida.
Free Black Fort Mose militia, Spanish forces, and Yamassee warriors surprised the British in an early morning attack. They quickly reclaimed Fort Mose through a fierce display of force, hence the title of “The Battle of Bloody Mose”.
