2025-2026 Evenings at Whitney Public Lecture Series
Join us at Whitney Laboratory for Marine Studies for the Free public lecture series. Presentations are on current science topics plus subjects from ongoing research programs at the lab. Speakers are recognized experts in their fields who welcome questions and discussion.

January’s lecture is entitled ’10 Years of Sea Turtles, Tumors and Florida Wildlife Forensics at the UF Whitney Lab’. Join us for a talk celebrating a decade of exciting discoveries, successful sea turtle rehabilitation and impactful education!
Dr. David Duffy is the speaker. He’s Associate Professor of Wildlife Disease Genomics and Rising Star Condron Family Endowed Assistant Professor. His lab’s primary focus is using genomics approaches to understand wildlife and human health and disease, and the use of environmental DNA (eDNA) for pathogen monitoring and endangered species detection.
The lectures are free as well as parking. No reservations are necessary … just show up.
