Veterans … be sure to sign up for the free Military Veteran Fishing class that is being offered.  The monthly program is designed in partnership with the VA to provide military veterans of all abilities an opportunity to gain skills and knowledge about fishing.

Date|Time:   Wednesday, February 25, 2026  — 9:00am-11:00am

Location: Usina Boat Ramp – Pavilion

Do you know how to tell a black drum from a sheepshead?  Do you want to make sure what kind of snapper you have on the hook? During “Fish ID”, you’ll learn about the different fish species you might catch while fishing in St. Johns County parks. Then, you’ll cast a line to test your ID skills.

Class consists of hands-on activities as well as an opportunity to go fishing.  Bring your own equipment if possible.  If necessary, gear can be provided.

Participants must possess a valid shoreline saltwater fishing license or fall under the exempt criteria determined by FWC.  Click for Saltwater Shoreline Fishing Information.
