Parks & Crafts Art Program – Plein Air Workshop

Join SJC Parks & Rec for their monthly Parks and Crafts Art Program. The program is designed for both beginners and art enthusiasts and offers a creative experience outdoors.  Enjoy the art of crafting while surrounded by nature.

Featuring a variety of art activities with all materials provided.

When: Thursday, October 9, 2025 –3:00pm-5:00pm

Where: Alpine Groves Park Riverfront Field

October’s program is “Plein Air Workshop” and is hosted by Tonya McGuire. You’ll be outdoors in the beautiful riverfront field at Alpine Groves Park where you can take in the natural scenery of the St. Johns River.

During the workshop, you’ll be introduced to the fundamentals of plein air painting with a focus on observing light, color, and movement in the landscape. Learn how to translate what you see into quick studies and a small finished work of art using simple, accessible supplies.

Walk away with your artwork that you have created and gain confidence in approaching nature as both subject and inspiration.

Open to all ages!
