Stories of American Veterans Exhibit

What better time to recognize our country’s servicemen and women than when the United States Army, Navy, and Marines celebrate their 250th anniversaries in 2025. And, as the United States nears its’ 250th anniversary in 2026!

The St. Johns Cultural Council and St. Johns County have expanded the Art in Public Spaces program to include the Health & Human Services Building. And, with that expansion, begins an opportunity for photographers to capture the image of Veterans.

Local, regional, and national artists were invited to submit up to three of their original photos featuring a veteran and an American flag. A jury then selected 25 works for Stories of American Veterans to be displayed. VFW Post 2391 and member Rick McAllister (writer, photographer, and Vietnam Combat Veteran) reached out to the St. Johns Cultural Council with the idea.
