UB40 will bring their Red Red Wine Tour to the The St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Saturday, August 10, 2024.  Special guests … The English Beat and Maxi Priest.

Formed in Birmingham, England in 1978 by a group of young friends, they transcended their working-class origins to become the world’s most successful reggae band. They sold over 100 million records and spent over a combined 11 years in the UK album charts. The band’s name pays homage to the UK government’s unemployment benefit form 40, reflecting their socially conscious roots and commitment to addressing societal issues through their music.

By bringing a unique fusion of reggae, pop, and socially conscious lyrics they set themselves apart in the vibrant music scene of the 1980s. They quickly gained international acclaim with their debut album, ‘Signing Off’, in 1980. The album’s success propelled them into the limelight, establishing UB40 as pioneers of the reggae-pop genre.

The Red Red Wine Tour will feature five of UB40’s six founding members; Robin Campbell, Brian Travers, Jimmy Brown, Earl Falconer and Norman Hassan … along with long-time members Duncan Campbell, Martin Meredith, Lawrence Parry and Tony Mullings.
