MLK Day of Service Cleanup Event 2026

Join the annual MLK Day of Service Community Cleanup event in west St. Augustine on Monday, January 19, 2026 — 9:00am-12:00pm.  It’s a great event full of  local volunteers of St. Augustine.

On this day of service to honor Martin Luther King, we host a street cleanup of trash and a cemetery cleanup of the oldest African American cemeteries in Florida, the Pinehurst and Sebastian cemeteries.  Once the event gets started, we’ll split people off into groups based on whether you want to participate with cleaning up trash from the streets or the cemetery cleanup.

● Meet at 252 N. Mc Laughlin St, St. Augustine at 8:45am.  A continental breakfast will be provided by Elizabeth Jennings from One Sotheby’s Reality of St. Augustine.  It’s on a first come, first serve basis as participants show up.  Volunteers can grab plates and get what they want while we get ready to cleanup.

Please dress for the weather. Bring grabber tools, gloves and your own water bottles.  If you’re doing the cemetery cleanup, bring gloves and gardening tools such as clippers, rakes and pruners.
