Stop by Fort Mose on Saturday, November 2, 2024 to experience the Fort Mose First Harvest …. presented by the Fort Mose Historical Society. The event celebrates the first harvest of Fort Mose which was founded in March of 1738.
During Summer and early Fall of that year, new homesteaders were busy building their homes and the fort. They were also busy planting their first crops and tending to their livestock. Governor Montiano provided food rations from the government’s stores until they could harvest their first crops.
Participants will learn about the Spanish, African, and Native American food traditions and cultural influences.

The event is outdoors and weather-sensitive.
Free to the public. Admission to the visitor center/museum is $2.00 per adult, children under six are free.
